Women in Business Summit coming to inspire and empower

The third annual Women in Business Summit will take place Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Granbury Conference Center, located at 621 E Pearl St. This year's theme, "Inspiring the Champion in You: Shine Bright," promises a day of motivation and professional development tailored for women striving to excel in their careers and personal lives.

The summit, a hit in previous years, will feature focus sessions to address critical topics relevant to professional women. These sessions include "Star Polishing," "Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and Unlocking Your True Potential," "Maintain Your Frame," "Shining Bright" and "Gratitude Beats Burnout." Each session is crafted to provide actionable insights and strategies to help attendees shine in their respective fields.

The event will kick off with a keynote address by Leah M. King, president and CEO of United Way of Tarrant County. King, a prominent community leader, will share her experiences and insights on leadership and community impact. Her tenure at United Way has seen significant contributions to Tarrant County, including substantial investments and support for the community during challenging times.

Madison Baker, vice president of business insurance at Marsh McLennan Agency, will lead a session on "Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and Unlocking Your True Potential." Baker's expertise in risk management and her role in mentoring emerging female leaders will provide valuable perspectives for attendees.

Stacie Brown, director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment for Granbury Independent School District, will present "Star Polishing." With her extensive experience in education, Brown will offer personal and professional development strategies.

Amy McKay, assistant professor at Tarleton State University, will address "Maintain Your Frame," focusing on the importance of wellness and balance. McKay's extensive background in fitness and wellness will offer practical tips for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Lacey MacLeod, CEO of Talent Uplifted, will present "Gratitude Beats Burnout," sharing her journey from burnout to a fulfilling career in executive coaching. Her session aims to provide tools and hope for overcoming professional burnout.

The summit is open to all interested individuals, with tickets priced at $75 for Granbury chamber members and $100 for nonmembers. Attendees will network with like-minded professionals, gain valuable insights from leading experts, and leave inspired to take their careers and lives to the next level.
