The Lake Granbury ER at Fall Creek opened its doors to receive patients Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The new freestanding ER is located at the corner of U.S. Highway 377 and Fall Creek Highway The facility is staffed 24/7 by experienced, board-certified physicians. It provides convenient access to imaging services such as CT scans, digital X-rays and ultrasound, as well as lab services available around the clock.

“The Lake Granbury ER Fall Creek is just like a hospital emergency room except it is not attached to the hospital. As we designed this $15-plus million investment, we focused on the comfort and convenience of patients, with eight private treatment rooms, a spacious waiting area and diagnostic equipment to provide quality emergency care,” said Curt M. Junkins, CEO of Lake Granbury Medical Center.

The ER at Fall Creek will treat patients with life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, head injuries, fractures, abdominal pain, respiratory issues and more. Patients who need to be admitted to the hospital or require services not available at the ER, such as surgery or cardiac cath lab procedures, can be transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center or the hospital of their choice, depending upon their condition.

Lake Granbury ER Fall Creek accepts the same insurance as Lake Granbury Medical Center, including Medicare and Medicaid, and is considered a hospital department.

“We worked very closely with city and county officials, Texas EMS and other EMS services, along with our first responders, to plan and provide emergency care for our communities. We are grateful to all of them for their help and expertise in developing our freestanding ER facility,” shared Junkins.

“Our focus is to provide quality healthcare to the residents of Hood County and the surrounding communities. Comments from residents and area businesses are always helpful to inform us on how we can better serve our community. Adding essential medical services to this side of town has been on the radar for many years, and as new housing developments and utilities were put in motion, the timing was right to expand and provide these vital services.”

According to Lake Granbury Medical Center’s 2023 annual community benefit report, more than $1.3 million was spent on capital improvements, $69.2 million in uncompensated care was provided, $70.9 million was spent on local payroll, and $10.1 million was paid in taxes locally.
