Elderly cyclist killed in traffic crash

An 88-year-old Granbury man was killed Friday morning, Aug. 30, when he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the 200 block of Farm-to-Market Road 167. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jeffery Jobin was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jeff Kelly.

Jobin was riding a bicycle southbound on FM 167 when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota Camry traveling in the same direction. DPS stated the crash occurred at approximately 7:41 a.m. and was caused by the driver of the Camry failing to control its speed. The investigation is ongoing and DPS was unable to provide further details.
