Wanda Tippett Houston, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 87.
Born on July 9, 1938, in Kaufman, Texas, Wanda moved with her family to Granbury in 1942, where she would spend much of her young life. She enjoyed playing basketball in high school, and graduated from Granbury High School in 1956. After graduation she began working at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, from where she would eventually retire..
Her early years of marriage were spent pouring her life into her sons, and her later years for her husband, and friends.
Wanda was a woman of deep faith and attended Western Hills Church of Christ. Her generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She had a heart of gold, and loved to give to others throughout the years. Buying Christmas gifts for family and extended family was her favorite pastime.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Houston; her parents, Ross and Sybil Tippett; her brother, Robert Tippett; and her sister, Sarah Sue Browning.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Doug Willis (Deena) and Greg Willis; her granddaughters, Kayla (Brandon), Amanda (Austin), and Jillian; her great grandchildren Cole, Chase, and one on the way; and her twin sister, Norma. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as step daughters and step grandchildren, plus many lifelong friends, and church friends. All of these will cherish their memories of time well spent with her, and her giving heart.
The family wishes to thank the fine staff at Bethesda Assisted Living for their amazing service. A service will be held on Sept. 16th, at 10 am, at the Granbury Cemetery.
