Secretary’s ‘grilling’ makes writer question choices made

Posted

Dear Editor,

I just finished watching on television Secretary Hegseth's presentation and subsequent "grilling" by members of the Senate Appropriations Committee and it got me to thinking.

First, why is the United States attacking Iran, a country 3,000-plus miles from the United States? And why is America "lone wolfing" it by itself? Is it not because our leadership has "pissed" off most of our allies? I think so.

Secondly, why did we choose to attack Iran rather than lending our financial and material support to Ukraine? Ever think about that? Personally, I suspect it is because one of Mr. Trump's best buddies is Mr. Putin. And why is that the case? Does Mr. Putin have something on Mr. Trump that would ruin Mr. Trump's political life if it became known?

As I understand it, most five-star hotel rooms in Russia have hidden cameras and microphones that record whatever might be going on "behind closed doors." And might there be a connection between this truth and Mr. Trump's Moscow Miss World pageants?

And doesn't that hypothesis help us understand why the United States invested large amounts of money in attempting to destroy Iran rather than choosing to help our friends in Ukraine? Just some thoughts of mine.
