She and her husband, Ronnie, attended Waples Baptist Church and were founding members. She was also a founding member of Beta Sigma Phi, achieving 50 years of membership. She enjoyed time loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, decorating her home, cooking, gardening, sitting on the back porch enjoying the beauty of nature and traveling with the Satellite RV Travel Club.

She was always an entrepreneur in spirit. She worked at Brazos Electric Power for many years and developed lasting friendships for years after her retirement. While at Brazos Electric Power, she and Ronnie purchased a motel in Glen Rose and developed it into a flourishing business. One day, while looking for something special to wear for an event and being unable to find exactly what she was looking for, an idea and an unprecedented business was born. She opened the first specialty loungewear and lingerie boutique aptly named "Something Special" in Granbury. It was also a successful venture.

She will be cherished and missed every day by everyone lucky to have met her. She was the eternal light and guiding force of our family. She is reunited with the love of her life and forever watching over her family from heaven as she did in her time on earth.
