Melba Ras Anderson, 93, passed from her earthly home May 8, 2026, in Granbury, TX. Melba was born March 11, 1933, in Granbury, Texas, to Ras Umphress and Annie Riley. She was a lifetime Granbury resident and graduated from Granbury High School in 1950.
She is survived by her son, Bob Anderson; daughter, Kay (Paul) Leverett; grandchildren, John (Abbi) Leverett, Audrey (Warner) Ebbink, Justin Leverett, Jason (Melody) Leverett, Nancy (Jorge) Borrelli, John Anderson Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Anderson; great-grandson, Vicente Leverett; parents, Ras and Annie Umphress; and sister, Alma Pierce.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Granbury, TX from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Acton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
