Martha Helen Drew departed from this world and entered into the loving arms of Jesus June 4, 2026, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loved ones and determined to meet her Savior.
Born to Inez and Frank Hanes, Martha was born in Gatesville, Texas, April 23, 1938. While Gatesville is a town so small one could easily miss it, Martha was a beauty so bright no one could miss her or contain her many talents. Martha quickly made waves in her town that rippled out to surrounding areas. Gifted in playing the piano and singing, she was often asked to play the piano for local churches by the age of 12 and was frequently featured on the radio. She continued to bless many with her musical talents throughout her life. Martha also excelled at school and graduated as Valedictorian of Fairy High School in 1956, and received a full ride to attend Baylor University to pursue Music. She attended college for a time, but then left to pursue work with Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she was featured for her hard work and elegance as the face of the company, serving as a public receptionist who greeted guests with her graceful smile, sold insurance, and managed the switchboard. At 16 years old, Martha met the love of her life, Bobby Drew, and also gained her baby brother, Mike Hanes. She and Bob were married in 1959 and enjoyed 67 blissful years of marriage together. Although they endured many life hardships together, their love remained strong and their faith even stronger. Additionally, Martha was an excellent interior designer who had a special eye for design and an ability to create beautiful spaces. She created a successful interior design business, Decors By Drew, which gained the attention of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and was highlighted in magazines on many occasions. Furthermore, she received many accolades for her redesign of the Wayzata County Club in Minnesota. But what made Martha the most proud were her children, Cindy Drew, born to her in 1961, and Greg Drew, born to her in 1969, and her nine grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at swim meets and choir concerts, and she enjoyed hosting her family and friends in her home, where she provided them with warmth, elegance, and wonderful meals. Martha, lovingly known as “Mimi” to her family, loved her husband and her family incredibly well to the very end of her life.
Of first and foremost importance to Martha, she was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and was a faithful servant of the Lord, having lived her life in service to the body of Christ. She was deeply involved at her churches, including First Baptist Church, Irving, Texas, MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church, Irving, Texas, Minnetonka Baptist Church, Plymouth, Minnesota, First Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas, and Lakeside Baptist Church, Granbury, Texas, as well as the Christian Women’s Club of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She sang in church choirs, led decorating committees, led Bible studies and Sunday school classes, supported her husband in his ministries, and so much more. And her ministry didn’t stop there. Martha shared the love of Christ with everyone around her and demonstrated the joy of the Lord in the midst of suffering. She truly found beauty in all things, and, if she couldn’t find it, she created it.
Martha is survived by her faithful and loving husband, Bob Drew; her two children, Cindy Moseley and Greg Drew; her brother, Mike and Debra Hanes; her grandchildren, Jeff Sisco Jr., Sarah Vrla, Jaclyn Wilhelm, Julie Watters, Matthew Moseley, Mary Kaliher, Abbey Divine, Zach Drew, and Gentry Drew; and her twenty great-grandchildren.
Martha’s viewing will be held Wednesday, June 10 from 4-6 p.m. at Martin’s Funeral Home, Granbury, Texas, and her funeral service will be held Thursday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church, Granbury, Texas. The Graveside ceremony will take place immediately following the funeral at Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury, Texas.
