John Lee Mozingo of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born in San Diego, California, Oct. 11, 1956, to William Lovey and Betty Leona (Foster) Mozingo. John spent his formative years in Granbury, Texas.
John attended GHS as a member of the Class of 1974. A welder by trade, he was also very passionate about cars and motorcycles. He was most proud of achieving 43 years of sobriety and offered a helping hand to many others over the years seeking the same freedom. John will be sorely missed but fondly remembered as a loving husband and brother, as well as a kind and caring friend, and having a great sense of humor.
John is survived by his wife, Rhonda Nichols Mozingo of Michigan City, Indiana, and his older brother, William Mozingo of Colleyville, Texas, and nieces Tracy Mozingo and Kristen Mozingo, both of Granbury, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Mozingo, and younger brother Patrick Mozingo. In lieu of services, a celebration of life will be held on a future date.
