J.K. Rusty Wall

Jack Knox “Rusty” Wall, 79, passed away peacefully Aug. 11. Born Jan. 15, 1947, in Abilene, Texas, to Jack and Ruth Wall, Rusty grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School in 1965. He earned two bachelor's degrees and a J.D. from UT Austin in 1977 and served as an artillery officer in the Texas National Guard.

Rusty practiced law in Texas for over 50 years as an assistant district attorney, defense attorney and consultant.

A devout Christian, he served faithfully as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Erin Marcum Wall; and son, Marlow Dotson Wall.

He is survived by his wife, Iris; son, Toby (Kate); sister, Linda (Steve) Bickel; stepdaughters, Jennifer and Wendy; and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, at the Wiley Center, 420 East U.S. Highway 377, Granbury, Texas. A private burial will take place in Odessa at a later date.
