James ‘Jim’ Grosvenor Case 1940 – 2026

Posted

Today we honor and remember James “Jim” Grosvenor Case, 85, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim passed away unexpectedly April 29, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Born Sept. 22, 1940, in Detroit to Theodore and Margaret Case, and raised by his Aunt Margaret “Marnie” Case, Jim was known for his optimism, incredible work ethic, and sense of humor. He was the kind of man who could accomplish more before 9 a.m. than most people do in one day. He found joy in the simple things — golf, stamp-collecting, working in his yard, and most of all, loving his family.

Anyone who knew Jim knew he had a heart of gold. His family always knew they were loved and that Papa was proud of them. That kind of love is a gift that lives on forever.

James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia; his children, James II and Janet Case, Kevin and Kelly Case, Kristin and Alan Walker; grandchildren, James III, Sydney, Trevor and Bailie, Amanda, Jamie and Matt, Zachary and Brandi and Shane; and by his great-grandchildren, Elliott, Noa, Maverick, Micah and Olivia James.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Wiley Center Funeral Home, 420 Highway 377 East in Granbury.

Rest easy, Jim. You were deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
