Jack David Yarbrough, 80, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family in Granbury.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at Acton Methodist Church, 3433 Fall Creek Highway, Granbury, Texas 76049

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Fort Worth Firefighter’s Museum ( www.fwffmuseum.org ) or Pecan Planation EMS and Volunteer Fire Department ( www.PecanplantationfireandEMS.org ).

Jack was born Oct. 31, 1944, in New York City to Hubert and Patricia Yarbrough, but he got to Texas as soon as he could. He was a proud Fort Worth firefighter for 30 years. He was instrumental in serving as founder and co-chairman of the Fort Worth Fire Museum. In addition to serving the public, he was a craftsman in his ceramic tile installation business. He loved spending time and supporting his grandkids and was a true patriarch of his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Jack was a proud Bullfrog and graduate of Lake Worth High School. He also attended Texas Wesleyan College where he studied biology.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Patricia Yarbrough and sister Nancy Merrifield.

Survivors include wife Donna Yarbrough of Granbury; son David Yarbrough, his wife Leslie and their children Jaxson and Chaney of Colleyville, and son Jeff Yarbrough, his wife Lisa and their children Zach and Cade of Round Rock; and brother Michael Yarbrough and his wife Zee of Benbrook. He also leaves behind many beloved cousins, family members and close friends.
