Friends of Memorial Lane hosts Firefighters of the Year

On National Firefighters Day, which was on Saturday, May 4, Friends of Memorial Lane honored the Firefighters of the Year from each of Hood County's nine volunteer fire departments. The ceremony was held at GVFD Station One, located at 1701 W. Pearl Street. Honorees (seated, from left) included Granbury VFD Lt. Diego Guerrero, North Hood County VFD Kenny Bell Jr., DCBE/ACTION VFD Sgt. of Arms Trevon Pool, Indian Harbor VFD Paramedic Kevin Fenner, Cresson VFD Firefighter Rita Lenig, Hood County VFD Station 70 Chase Wilson, Pecan Plantation VFD Firefighter Jeff Mastick, Lipan VFD Captain Larry Sherman. Unfortunately, Tolar VFD Firefighter Brian Rothe was unable to attend. Friends of Memorial Lane, local officials, and supporters gathered together to take the photo with the honorees.
