Council OKs large annexation despite opposition

Granbury City Council unanimously approved a request Tuesday night, Jan. 6, for annexation of almost 2,100 acres — despite the majority of speakers during a public hearing being opposed.

Following the vote, the standing-room-only crowd that overflowed into the lower lobby of City Hall showed its displeasure with boos and other exclamations — one that rose above the din was the accusation, “How much money?”
