Posted

Charlotte Rushing Jones Ball, 76, of Granbury, passed away at home Feb. 10, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. March 6 at Tolar Baptist Church, and a memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Dave Samples officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Charlotte was born in Fort Worth to T.C. and Lola Rushing Nov. 20, 1949. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1968. Later that year, she married her late husband, Kenneth W. Jones. Together, they raised three children. After dedicating many years to her family, Charlotte began a career with American Airlines, where she worked for 13 years. She started in ticketing and later served at the help desk, eventually becoming a supervisor.

Charlotte married her second husband, Joe Ball, in 2001. Charlotte loved the Lord dearly and was a shining light for Him throughout her life. Her family was the love of her life, and she was affectionately known as "Mimi." She had a gift for making others feel loved. She enjoyed sewing and later taught herself to quilt, creating beautiful quilts for babies and adults alike. Every stitch was sewn with intention and love, just like the way she lived her life.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Joe Ball of Granbury; five children: Shane Jones and wife Jeanine of Fort Worth, Trevor Jones and wife Amy of Bluff Dale, Alicia Owens and husband Jon of Tolar, Jessica Rhodes and husband Leighton of Lipan, and Derek Ball of Fort Worth. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, T.C. and Lola Rushing; her late husband, Kenneth W. Jones; grandson, Dalton Jones; granddaughter, Britain Owens; and brothers, Aubrey Don Rushing and Jerry Rushing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to one's favorite charity.
