Chad Michael Snow 1984 – 2025

Posted

Chad Michael Snow, 40, passed from this earthly life on May 6, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on July 24, 1984, in Andrews, Texas. Chad was the beloved husband of Megan McGowen Snow, the devoted father of Adler and Aubrey Snow and the calming hand to their rambunctious golden retriever, Tucker.

Alongside his wife and children, Chad is survived by his parents, Dan Snow and Sandra Lynn Plemons Snow, his sister Sarah Snow Anderson, spouse Shannon Anderson, their children, Tristan, Teagan, and Taylan, as well as his brother Joshua Snow, spouse Challys Morris Snow and a soon-to-be born niece.

Additional survivors are his father-in-law, Mark McGowen, spouse Deborah “Doc” McGowen, brother-in-law, Matt McGowen, spouse Nikki McGowen, and their children Beckett, Bella, and Corrie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by Megan‘s mother, Lori McGowen.

Chad grew up in Andrews, Texas, and lived on the water as much as a West Texas boy could manage. He became an avid fly fisherman while also learning to raft the waters of the Southwest during family vacations and coming-of-age excursions. His experiences covered the Gila wilderness and Rio Grande of New Mexico, as well as the rivers of southern Colorado: the Animas, San Juan and Conejos. He even took time for a few saltwater tours of the Caribbean. Amongst his friends, he was known to plan trips down the Devils River, where he served as a personal guide for many friends.

Following his graduation from Andrews High School, Chad attended Abilene Christian University (ACU), graduating with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. It was at ACU where Chad began dating the love of his life, Megan. The two quickly grew inseparable, and after graduating from ACU, they married in June 2007, thus, the adventures began. Chad and Megan lived in Granbury, Texas, where Chad was blessed to work with both family and friends at Lotus LLC, managing their East and Central Texas operations. His loyalty and commitment to any task at hand were unmatched. This also included the start of his own family with Megan.

Though Chad grew up in the desert of West Texas, his love of water was apparent in his adaptation to rivers and lakes of Central Texas. Chad had no problem building a “boat” or simply borrowing a small skiff from a friend when needed for his adventures. Living in Granbury, he was a constant companion to the Brazos River. It was rare to ever hear Chad refuse an invitation to fish, float, boat, or camp. Aside from his love of the water, Chad was a tremendous hunter and eagerly involved his family on many hunts. Additional interests of Chad were flying, scuba diving, wakeboarding, surfing, snow and water skiing, BBQ smoker, welder, heavy equipment operator and the list continues. Chad was not daunted by any challenge and feared little. He was soft-spoken, yet determined, well known and admired by many, friend to all. He ensured to involve Adler and Aubrey in all of his hobbies and adventures, thus his loves became their loves, and their loves became his loves.

Most importantly, he gave his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a baptized believer who exhibited every aspect of a Christian husband, father, son, and friend. He found God’s glory in all aspects of life, especially in nature and the great outdoors. He was larger than life and lived a full one.

A celebration of life service for Chad was held Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas. A private family burial was held following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gear Up For Game Wardens (gearupforgamewardens.org), an organization helping Texas Game Wardens in their efforts to preserve wildlife in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.

Arrangements under the care of Wiley Funeral Home.
