Barbara Ann Wright Darr, born Nov. 6, 1939, in Gatesville, passed away peacefully Dec. 22, 2024, in Granbury. She was the beloved wife of Gary Darr and a devoted mother to her children, Felesha Smith and Gary Darr Jr.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
She was born to Archie and Etta Mae Wright and is survived by her siblings, Linda Wright, Elise Wright and preceded in death by Maxine Hale and Pat Jetton.
Barbara was known for her vibrant spirit and youthful energy, which belied her age. Never one to meet a stranger, she had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her passion for life was evident in her love for shopping, dining out with friends, traveling and boating with family in her younger years. Barbara had a unique talent for fashion and coordinating outfits, which she often referred to as her passion, and she took immense pride in her work as a hairdresser, where she styled hair for many years in her community.
Barbara and Gary attended Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury until the last few years when they faithfully started watching church from home due to her declining health.
Barbara always said "Enjoy life while you are still young" which was evident in her daily interactions, as she inspired those around her to embrace life to the fullest. Her caring nature and tireless work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her as a go-getter who never slowed down and a compassionate soul who always lent a helping hand.
