Granbury has been a big part of Fern Bailey’s busy life for as far back as she can remember. She is widely recognized around town in her role as head usher at the Granbury Opera House, a place she truly loves. She rarely, if ever, misses a performance. She is also the smiling face greeting customers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Shaw’s Southwest Grille.

The Opera Guild Association was established in 1978. Since that time, it has evolved into the Opera Guild of Granbury, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. In 2020, the Opera Guild of Granbury decided to support the Granbury Academy by providing scholarships. This program recognizes students who consistently attend classes and demonstrate their commitment to learning more about acting. The guild has also made donations to the academy toward students’ trips to the National Junior Festival, two trips each year.
