On Monday, Nov. 18 People Helping People distributed Thanksgiving meals to members of the community. Yearly, Hood County residents are provided these free Thanksgiving meals, and typically the nonprofit serves between 400 and 500 people on this day alone.

The following is a breakdown of activity that occurred through the Granbury Police Department during the period of Nov. 12-18. While there were many incidents, this is a partial list of more significant activity.

Information should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event for consideration. The Community Calendar is a free listing in the Hood County News to inform readers of programs, special meetings and nonprofit events. The event should be open to the public and free to attend. Email the who, what, when and where. Include the meeting location and a street address for the location. The topic for the meeting, program or guest speaker must be included. Support System calendar will feature recurring activities that provide group support and are open to the public. Submit Support System listings to calendar@hcnews.com and include the day, date, time, and location — including street address.

The Hood County Commissioners Court voted 3:2 to pass a resolution that will limit government power to both the U.S. and Texas Constitutions during a regularly scheduled meeting Nov. 12.

The Granbury Independent School District has officially entered into an agreement with StoneWater Church to establish an additional emergency site in the event of a mass evacuation.
