Home building will soon get underway for The Residences at Cardinal Woods on the other side of FM 4 from Kroger Marketplace, south of the U.S. Highway 377 intersection.
The 13.23-acre development by Richard Bates of Bellaire North Investments in Fort Worth will feature 40 homes with 4.6 acres of commercial pads. It will have a homeowners association.
The Granbury City Council approved the planned development in December 2019. It is not affected by the current development ban caused by a delay in building a second wastewater treatment plant.
Bates said that The Residences at Cardinal Woods is designed for those 55 and older but will not be age-restricted.
Thirty-six homes will have two-car rear entry garages with an outside parking space, and four homes will have two-car front entry garages with an outside parking space.
“They all have varying elevation styles and roof lines,” Bates said.
Each home will be individually landscaped, and the average size will be 1,900 square feet.
“We are completing the infrastructure portion now and should begin vertical construction in late June,” Bates told the Hood County News.
The video references townhomes, but those plans have changed, Bates said. Townhomes will not be part of the development.
He also noted that the video does not depict 114 trees that will be planted along the development’s main street.
In addition to Kroger Marketplace, the development will be a short distance from the Luton Ranch shopping center, which includes H-E-B, Ross, Michael’s and Marshalls.
