Former library director heads TLA’s Intellectual Freedom Committee

Former Hood County Library Director Courtney Kincaid is now chair of the Texas Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Committee. In 2015, Kincaid was at the center of a volatile debate in Hood County that raised the question of censorship. The controversy was over children’s books at the library that dealt with issues of gender identity and tolerance. Kincaid ultimately accepted a job at a library in another city.
