The Neal brothers greet with a warm smile and a handshake. Every answer begins with “Yes, ma’am” or “No, ma’am.” Eighth grader Braden Neal and fourth grader Garrett Neal have grown up in the agricultural lifestyle. Braden and Garrett help to raise cattle at their family farm with parents Brandon and Carrie Neal. The boys have learned to manage the pastures for grazing and hay.

Two Pride of Granbury High School Band students were selected to perform with the 5A Texas All-State Symphonic Band in San Antonio Feb. 10 in a concert sponsored by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).
The Hood County Junior Livestock show is a much-anticipated event for kids all over the county. The show, produced annually by the Hood County Junior Livestock Raisers Association, had a total of 938 entries for the five-day event that took place from Jan. 9-13. One entrant in particular has persevered through hard times to continue to be part of this annual show.
Hood County is gearing up for its 69th annual Junior Livestock Show that will take place Jan. 9 through the 13, put on by the Hood County Junior Livestock Raisers Association. The free five-day event at the Reunion Grounds gives students from around the county the chance to show off their skills from working directly with animals to all kinds of knowledge of livestock identification and much more.
During a regularly scheduled Granbury ISD school board meeting Dec. 11, the board voted 5-0 to bring on Bobby Allison as the new head football coach and boys’ athletic coordinator. Trustees Melanie Graft and Karen Lowery were not in attendance at the meeting.
A student-led club known as the Granbury Junior Optimist Club dedicates its time to spreading optimism and serving the community. Only three years after the club began, the group has brought home a first place national title.
