The Tolar Rattlers got back to their winning ways Friday with an impressive 60-18 win on the road at Bangs.
Despite losing quarterback Colby Trinkle late in the first quarter with a left knee injury, Tolar (6-1, 1-1) dominated all phases of the district game.
Filling in for the injured Trinkle, Will Bonnell was efficient going 8 for 12 for 148 yards with one interception and two passing touchdowns. Bonnell ran 10 times for 64 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a pass for a TD.
Also scoring touchdowns for Tolar was Cody Jones with two, and Clayton Carr, Griffin King, James Henderson and Nick Sayler with one each.
Tolar’s offense outgained the Dragons (2-4, 0-2) 567 yards to 220. The Rattlers never punted.
Head coach Mike Franklin said he was very satisfied with the win and the preparation from his team.
“We had a good practice all week,” said Franklin. “This game was won on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.”
Next up for the Rattlers is their homecoming game against Dublin.
