Sheriff: SWAT, drug-sniffing dog dispatched to help during Erath raid

Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said Tuesday that the local SWAT unit and a drug-sniffing dog were dispatched to assist in Stephenville as a separate action during last week’s drug raid in Erath County. Deeds said authorities called to request the help in serving a search warrant while the Stephenville officers were dealing with the drug sweep. The drug raid, conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Stephenville Police Department, reportedly resulted in 31 suspects being taken into federal custody, accused of trafficking methamphetamine.
