Sheriff confirms deputies covering city of Tolar after police shut down patrols

Sheriff Roger Deeds confirmed Thursday morning that deputies will be patrolling  Tolar for the time being after Tolar Police Chief R.C. (Rodney) Cox announced there was no longer any police coverage of the city, effective immediately. “He said he’s not going to be able to take calls,” Deeds said. “He’s shutting it down. We’re going to pick up the slack and take care of business.” The Hood County News has not yet been able to make contact with Tolar Mayor Terry Johnson.
