Report: Youth sought in manhunt detained here

A 16-year-old Cleburne boy reportedly sought by Johnson County authorities in an eight-hour manhunt Monday reportedly turned himself in to Granbury police at about 3 p.m. yesterday. Because of juvenile privacy laws, Granbury Police Chief Mitch Galvan said he could only confirm that a runaway youth was detained and then released to the Cleburne Police. Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Tim Jones confirmed reports that the boy stole a vehicle in Cleburne and was armed with a .357-caliber handgun. Cleburne High School and Wheat Middle School campuses had been under a perimeter lockdown starting at about 10:25 a.m. Monday as a precaution, Jones said.
