Report: Tobacco possession nets felony charge

Fort Worth resident Joe David Daume, 57, on local misdemeanor DWI work release in which he is required to serve time at night and on weekends in the Hood County Jail, was found to be in possession of tobacco while in custody at about midnight on Feb. 9, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said. The offense, officially called “prohibited substance in a correctional facility,” ranks as a third-degree felony, Rose explained.
