The Granbury Pirates improved to 8-0 for the first time since the 1966 season, in which they played for a state championship, with a 35-12 win over Trimble Tech (2-6) Friday night at Farrington Field. Ryan Suitt threw for three touchdowns, while Malik Allen threw a 54-yard touchdown to Skylar Baskin on the Pirates’ first play from scrimmage. Allen also scored on a 1-yard run. Next up for the Pirates (5-0 in 7-4A) is a trip to Aledo (8-0, 5-0), the No. 1 team in the state, next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
