Commissioners to consider incentives for Kroger

February 7, 2014

County Commissioners, at their regular meeting Tuesday (Feb. 11), will consider a “Chapter 381 Agreement” for the planned new Kroger store. It is the county equivalent of the “Chapter 380 Agreement” that was approved by the Granbury City Council a few days ago. The agreements are allowed through the Local Government Code. City and county governments offer limited term tax abatements in order to attract businesses that would stimulate the local economy. Kroger executives are planning to build a bigger store at Highway 377 and Highway 4, across from H-E-B. Other local businesse have also benefitted from the agreements.
