Three people were injured Friday in a two-car crash on Highway 51 that sent one vehicle crashing through a fence and nearly into a storage garage a few hundred feet north of Panchito’s Restaurant.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Skylark Drive and Weatherford Highway when a red Ford Ranger XLT pickup collided with a vintage Chevy pickup that witnesses say was traveling in the opposite direction.

According to a witness at the scene, one of the vehicles was attempting to turn onto Skylark Dr. when the incident occurred at about 4:15 p.m.

Traffic was stopped in both directions as emergency personnel cleared the crash scene.

The extent of the injuries are unknown.
