Tolar drops home finale’ to Whitney

Visiting Maypearl jumped out to a big lead early and went on to post a 15-4 District 10-2A softball victory over Tolar Friday.

Maypearl took a 9-0 after batting in the top of the first inning. They built the advantage to 10-0 before the Lady Rattlers got on the board.

Caitlyn Hall and Katie Keith each had two of the Lady Rattlers’ hits. Each also had a double and drove in a run.

In a yeoman effort, Haley Webb drew two walks and stole three bases for the Lady Rattlers.

While the Lady Rattlers (6-13 overall, 2-7 in District 10-2A) committed no errors, they were outhit 17-7.

The Lady Rattlers were closing the season with a game at Whitney last night.

“We are ready to close this chapter and begin preparing for our new one,” said coach Christy Collie.

“Our record isn’t a reflection of how well the girls played this season. All good things must come to an end. We just finished short.”
