Santo gets payback on Indians

Continuing what was an interesting week, the Lipan Indians dropped a 17-1 District 10-A baseball contest at Santo Tuesday.

The Indians won the first meeting at home, 8-7 on March 7.

The Indians (5-4, all 10-A games) managed one hit in the loss, a single by Lance Ferguson. Jorge Hernandez was hit by a pitch, while Brady Nelson and Cameron Earles each walked.

In their previous outing, Lipan won 16-8 at Ranger, the same team that spoiled the Indians’ season opener in Lipan, 15-6, on March 4.

Despite the loss, the Indians are battling for a second consecutive playoff berth.
