Youth rally to feature former pro athletes

October 22, 2012

Stonewater Church will have its annual Champions For Today Area Wide Youth Rally Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at the church in Texana Plaza. The event will feature former NFL players William Green of the Cleveland Browns and Keith Davis of the New York Giants. The event is designed to help young people address life issues, build character and focus on values. The speakers will share personal experiences and present the consequences of such things as drugs, crime, peer pressure and violence. The event will also include the Flying Wallenda Family and Tino Wallenda, famous for anchoring a seven-person high-wire pyramid. He is also a first-class comedic performer. During his final two seasons at Boston College, Green rushed for over 2,700 yards and scored 32 touchdowns. He was a first-round pick of the Browns in 2002. Davis was a member of two Rose Bowl champion USC Trojans squads and was later drafted by the Giants, where he was one of the strongest players on the team at linebacker. However, injuries cut his pro career short. For more information, contact 817-326-2766
