Waco ends Pirates’ football season

Pirates finish 9-2 and fall in bidistrict for fourth straight season, still posting best record in nearly 50 years. Waco (8-3) advances to second round for third time in four seasons. Granbury scored on the second play of its first possession, a 51-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Suitt to Nick Doughty. Then Waco responded with 56 straight points before Malik Allen scored a couple of late TDs from 3 yards and 1 yard for the Pirates. Waco outgained Granbury 550-205 as Lions quarterback Traynham Moore was 15-for-19 for 309 yards and four touchdowns.
