Pirates keep playoff hopes alive; Aledo drops Lady Pirates again

Granbury (10-15, 5-6 in 7-4A) 49, Aledo (12-14, 6-5) 46, Pirates’ win keeps them a game behind Arlington Heights, Aledo and Southwest and tied with South Hills in battle for second through fourth place in district. B.B. King’s steal in closing seconds led to being intentionally fouled. Ryan Suit hit a free throw and Granbury ran out clock. Mitchell May had hit the gamewinner a few seconds earlier.

Lipan (12-13, 5-2 in 17-A) 72, Strawn 60, Indians stay in hunt for district title.

Tolar (2-15, 2-8 in 10-2A) 46, Grandview 45

Aledo (24-3, 13-0 in 7-4A) 55, Granbury (17-11, 9-4) 36,  Lady Pirates had already secured a playoff berth. Senior Morgan Northcutt, in her final home, scores 15 points to lead Lady Pirates. Justis Sczcepanski-Beavers leads Aledo with 19 points and 10 boards.

Lipan (30-1, 9-0 in 17-A) 69, Strawn (19-9, 7-2) 44),  Lady Indians, No. 1 in state, get 30th consecutive win and clinch district championship.

Grandview 34, Tolar (12-12, 5-7 in 10-2A) 21, Lady Rattlers in battle with Keene for final playoff berth from district. Grandview leads league.
