Centennial shocks Pirates in Game 3 to end GHS’ season

Game 1, in Burleson: Granbury 4, Centennial 0, 
Nathan Hickey pitches a 2-hitter and strikes out eight, making him only the third player in GHS history to strike out 100 batters in a season.
Game 2, in Granbury: Centennial 2, Granbury 0, 
Tanner Dent of Centennial pitches a 3-hitter. Payton Rhodes comes on in relief after first three Centennial batters walk and pitches a 3-hitter, but Spartans plate both runs in the first and make them hold up.
Game 3, in Burleson: Centennial 8, Granbury 4
Pirates grab early 3-0 lead but Spartans storm back, highlighted by five-run fourth inning. Kasey Hubbard  leads Pirates in hitting in series, going 4-for-8 with two walks and an two RBIs. Granbury ends first season under Brad Eppler 19-11 and second in District 7-4A. Centennial, third in 8-4A and coached by former Pirate coach Brad Hart, improves to 16-15 and moves on to face Birdville in the area round.
