Pirate golfers qualify for regionals again

The Granbury Pirates are making their sixth consecutive regional appearance after finishing second at the District 7-4A Tournament on Pecan Valley’s River Course Wednesday and Thursday. The Pirates No. 1 squad posted a two-day total of 618 (308-310). Aledo No. 1 won with a 607 (298-309), and Aledo No. 2 took third with a 631. The Pirates were led by their lone senior, Baker White, who shot a 10-over-par 150 (71-79). Junior Zach Wall came in with a 74 Thursday, giving him a 153 for two days. Aledo and Granbury will compete in the Class 4A Region I Tournament at Diamondback Golf Course in Abilene April 14-15. The top three teams there will advance to state. The Pirates reached state last season.
