Granbury High School’s volleyball squad got its first taste of competition Friday and Saturday, at Haltom City and at Trinity in timed scrimmages with no scores kept. They played for an hour and a half against Haltom. On Saturday they took on South Grand Prairie, Burleson Centennial and Trinity. “It was a great opportunity for me to see different people and try some different lineups,” GHS head coach Tammy Clark said. The Lady Pirates, co-champions of their district last year and regional finalists, will play their first regular-season game at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Ridge High in Mansfield.
