Brister sixth in pole vault, Mabery fifth; Hernandez sixth in long jump

Saturday morning in the boys pole vault, Rodie Brister of Tolar cleared 13 feet, 6 inches to grab sixth place after three tries at 14-0. The winner posted a height of 15-3. After a rain delay of a few hours on the first day of the meet on Friday, Tolar’s Reagan Mabery placed fifth in the Class 2A girls pole vault with a height of 10 feet, 6 inches. Earlier in the day, Lipan’s Jorge Hernandez posted a distance of 20-7.75 feet for sixth place among nine competitors in the Class A Division II long jump.
