Area youths compete at TAAF State

Six area athletes competed at the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas recently. Shelby Cline of Granbury had the highest finish, taking second in the Women’s 18-Under high jump with a career-best 5-6 effort. Kaleb Gilliam of Tolar posted two top-10 finishes in the Boys 16-Under Division, taking fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.37 and ninth in the triple jump with a 38-6.5 total feet, while also placing 19th in the long jump at 18-4. Also from Tolar, Rodie Brister tied for eighth in Boys 16-Under pole vault at 11-0; J.J. Lee was 20th in the 1600 for Boys 10-Under with a clocking of 6:34.10. Also from Granbury, Tate Baker was ninth in the long jump among Boys 8-Under with a 10-5 effort, and Jettin Murphy tied for 14th in Girls 16-Under high jump at 4-8.
