Tolar’s Reagan Mabery leads the list of local athletes who have qualified for the State Track and Field Meet in Austin May 9-10. She will be making her fourth consecutive trip in the pole vault after clearing a career-best 11 feet, 6 inches to win the event at the Class 2A Region II Meet at Tarleton State University. At the Class A Division II Region III Meet in Bullard, Lipan’s Lanie Roberts qualified for a second straight year by finishing second in the 800-meter run (2:23.32) and 1600 (5:44.70), while Shauna Coleman qualified with a runner-up finish in the 300 hurdles (52.07). Also for Tolar, Garrett Winston’s third-place triple jump of 45-10.75 appears to have earned him a wild-card berth at state, said coach Gregg Lee, but official results won’t be known until next week.
