Thirty years ago a group of 15 people who had been blessed with financial success pooled their resources in hopes of bringing the story of Christ to the stage. Their vision became a reality five years later. As “The Promise” celebrates its 25th season at the Texas Amphitheatre in Glen Rose, the estimated 1 million people who have attended performances equals the amount of dollars its creators have poured into the show over the years to keep it – and its message of hope and redemption – alive.
