Two chain retail stores are coming to town – Ross Dress for Less and Marshalls.
Ground has been broken across Meander Road from H-E-B, on property known as Luton Ranch West.
The news was confirmed by Lake Granbury Economic Development Director Warren Ketteman and the city’s Community Development Director, Scott Sopchak.
Ketteman said he does not know when the stores will be completed, but likely within eight months or so.
Sopchak said building plans have been submitted by the developer and are currently under review with city staff.
The Public Improvement Agreement (PIA) has already been approved to allow for the installation of water, sewer, electric and other infrastructure, Sopchak said.
The Marshalls store will be 24,013 square feet, and the Ross store will be 22,102 square feet, the community development director said.
Sopchak said the city has no information on how many people the stores will employ.
According to Sopchak, the building plans will not have to go before the Granbury City Council since the land is already zoned Light Commercial, allowing for retail.
In an email to the Hood County News, Sopchak wrote: “It will be reviewed and processed internally, provided their submission meets the adopted building and development policies.”
