Police: Drugs found at school

May 10, 2014

Police detained Granbury Middle School students after drugs were found at school, according to Granbury Police Deputy Chief Alan Hines.

The two separate incidents were on Friday, May 2.

A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were taken to the Granbury Regional Juvenile Justice Center, where they were to meet with a judge within 10 days.

The judge would then decide what action is appropriate according to Texas juvenile laws.

Hines noted that the 13-year-old was found in possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana shortly before noon.

The 14-year-old was found with three hydrocodone tablets at about 2 p.m. that day, Hines said.

He added that the drugs were found based on “information received.”
