Electric, school election today, 7-7

May 10, 2014

Will the question of whether to authorize the Granbury City Council to sell the city’s electric utility system spark the interest of voters?

Today is the day for those who have long complained about the municipal system to play a role in their destiny.

A “yes” vote will give the council the authority to sell, but will not obligate them to do so.

Also on the ballot today are four school board positions in the Lipan ISD. In Place 4, incumbent Ned E. Tipton faces Shane Shockley, Phillip Tarpley and Tim Ross. In Place 3, incumbent Rhonda Millington is squaring off with Ellyn Grove. Todd Tuggle of Place 2 and Walter Baldree of Place 5 are up for re-election, but do not have opponents. Lipan voters will cast ballots at the Lipan Church of Christ. The polling site for Granbury voters is Annex I, 1410 W. Pearl St. Polls will be open from 7 to 7. Go to www.hcnews.com for results.
