“Bud” was born March 27, 1929 in Fort Worth, TX to Claude and Myrtle Hanson. He was raised in a loving home, along with 2 sisters, Jean and Mary, and 1 brother, Joe. He met the love of his life, Jerriene “Jerry” Thweatt in grade school and they later married on July 7, 1949 while Bud was in the Navy. Together, Bud and Jerry raised a family of 3 sons in the Fort Worth area before retiring to Rockport, TX.
Bud was a wise and loving husband and father, always supportive and encouraging. His nickname “Buddy” fit his kind and gentle personality as he naturally acted on “Love thy neighbor.” Bud and Jerry were long time active members of the Presbyterian Church. Bud always served others and loved the Lord.
Bud had a good work ethic and worked hard to support his family. He retired from the corrugated box plant after 38 years. He loved fishing, blue grass music, playing his guitar and harmonica. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
