Welcome to the new EOC

March 26, 2014

Rhonda Shipp, secretary to Sheriff Roger Deeds, helped guide guests around the newly opened Emergency Operations Center at 401 Deputy Larry Miller Drive Saturday afternoon shortly after dedication and grand opening ceremonies. A special tribute honored Hood County Sheriff’s Office deputy Lance McLean, who died last June following a gunshot while investigating a disturbance. McLean’s widow Katy was in attendance and was given a commemorative plaque. Deeds escorted Katy into the building to view her husband’s picture, which was prominently displayed in a place of honor just inside the building’s entrance.
