Three fires on same street investigated

July 2, 2014

A tractor-trailer cab was destroyed when it caught fire Thursday inside a fenced-in business on Industrial Avenue.

It was the third fire in that vicinity, just off of Highway 377 in east Granbury, since early May.

Thursday’s fire was called in at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. The flatbed trailer was saved by firefighters, Granbury Fire Chief Darrell Grober said.

On May 3, a Bobcat loader that was in a shed adjacent to where the semi was parked caught fire and received moderate damage.

It was called in to 911 at 2:42 p.m.

Two days later, two homes caught fire around noon in a mobile home sales lot on Industrial – across the street from where the other two fires occurred – and appeared to be a total loss, officials said.

Granbury Fire Inspector Kevin Jones said the incidents are still under investigation.
