Three people involved in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 144 and Mambrino Highway Wednesday afternoon escaped injuries, according to Jeff Young, assistant chief of Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department. Pictured are firefighter Nicholas Mains and the owner of the PT Cruiser involved in the accident. Mains disconnected the battery so additional air bags would not deploy. Young said that “securing the vehicle” is standard practice after an accident. Responders can then go into the vehicle and take out car seats and other items to be removed. The driver of the other vehicle had her grandchild in a car seat. All were checked on the scene for injuries. No one was transported to the hospital, authorities said.
