A man was arrested and charged with forgery to defraud or harm an elderly person, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said.
Thomas Lynn Scrimshire, 57, was taken into custody Tuesday by Parker County law enforcement officers in Azle on the Hood County felony warrant, Rose said.
Scrimshire at one time lived in Hood County but recently listed a post office address in Boyd.
Rose indicated that the incident involved a business transaction but would not be more specific, indicating that he didn’t want to give information that would identify the victim. He said that a family member reported the incident.
“The charge stems from Scrimshire forging a document that victimized an elderly person on or around November of 2012,” Rose stated.
Scrimshire was released from the Hood County Jail after posting bond.
